Landed cost calculator
Landed cost is what one unit costs by the time it reaches your warehouse: the product price plus freight, insurance, duty, customs fees and costs such as brokerage, drayage and receiving, divided by the units in the shipment. Enter a shipment to see the total per unit and where each dollar comes from.
Cost per unit is the customs value. Other costs cover brokerage, drayage and receiving. Get the duty rate from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, with every duty that applies included.

The customs fees in the calculation
Merchandise processing fee. For formal entries from October 1, 2026 (fiscal year 2027), CBP charges 0.3464% of the value of the goods, at least $34.58 and at most $670.86 per entry. On a small entry the minimum makes the fee per unit higher; on a large one the maximum caps it.
Harbor maintenance fee. 0.125% of the value of cargo unloaded from ships at covered U.S. ports. Pick Air above and the calculator leaves it out.
Duty. The calculator multiplies the customs value by the rate you enter. Find your product’s line in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and include every duty that applies to it and its country of origin; a licensed customs broker can confirm the rate. Low-value shipments that clear as informal entries pay a different processing fee, so check CBP’s user fee table for those.
Before you compare supplier quotes
Check which costs are already in each price. A CIF quote includes ocean freight and insurance to the destination port; an FOB quote doesn’t. The Incoterms 2020 chart shows who pays what under each rule, so you add each cost once.
Moving the goods inland as LTL freight? Work out the class, and so the rate basis, with the freight class calculator. Once they land, the pallet calculator estimates how many pallets you’ll store.
Fulfillment Hub USA receives imports at five U.S. warehouses: Dover, DE; Miami, FL; Houston, TX; Los Angeles (Commerce), CA; and South San Francisco, CA. Onboarding typically takes 3 to 5 business days.
Common questions
What is included in landed cost?
The price you pay the supplier, freight to your warehouse, cargo insurance, import duty, customs fees such as the merchandise processing fee and harbor maintenance fee, and the costs of getting the goods in: customs brokerage, drayage from the port, and warehouse receiving.
How is the merchandise processing fee calculated?
For formal entries in fiscal year 2027, from October 1, 2026, CBP charges 0.3464% of the value of the goods, at least $34.58 and at most $670.86 per entry. Because of that minimum and maximum, the fee per unit is higher on small shipments and lower on large ones.
What is the harbor maintenance fee?
A fee of 0.125% of the value of commercial cargo unloaded from ships at covered U.S. ports. Ocean imports pay it as part of the customs entry; air shipments don’t.
Where do I find my duty rate?
Look up your product’s classification in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule at hts.usitc.gov, then add every duty that applies to that product and its country of origin. Enter the total here. A licensed customs broker can confirm the classification and rate.
How do Incoterms change what I enter?
They decide which costs are already in the supplier’s price. On a CIF or CFR quote the seller has paid main freight, so enter only the costs you pay yourself; on FOB or EXW you add freight from the origin. Under DDP the seller also pays duty and import fees.
