Ecommerce operations guide

An unboxing that feels like your brand. A process your team can repeat.

Branded packaging and product customization need a specification, not just a reference photo. Define the materials, assembly sequence, artwork, approval sample and exceptions before orders go live. FHU offers packaging and customization services, including embroidery and direct-to-garment printing, subject to agreed product, facility and operating scope. Confirm the available method, turnaround and charges for your project rather than assuming every warehouse offers every process.

Decision support

Decisions to settle before launch

Use the same definitions and evidence across every option. A comparison is not reliable when one path uses best-case assumptions and another uses observed operating data.

Execution

From requirements to a working launch

Move to the next step only when the evidence and owner for the current step are clear.

  1. 01

    Separate packaging from product work

A branded carton, insert or kit is different from changing the garment itself. List each operation independently so materials, labor, quality checks and charges can be scoped accurately.

  2. 02

    Approve a repeatable sample

Provide artwork rights, placement, colors, material details and any size variations. Agree a sample and acceptance criteria before authorizing production quantities. Record what would require another approval.

  3. 03

    Confirm the operating location

Verify the actual facility and supported process for the selected product. Do not ship customization stock until equipment or service availability, handoffs and turnaround are agreed.

  4. 04

    Test the order instructions

Use representative orders with different options. Confirm that artwork references, personalization data and packaging rules reach the correct operator, and that missing instructions hold the order for review.

  5. 05

    Plan materials and returns

Set reorder ownership for cartons, inserts and other consumables. Decide how defective or personalized goods are handled on return. Review packaged dimensions when estimating shipping costs rather than relying on product size alone.

Boundaries

Limitations and review triggers

  • Embroidery, printing, kitting and premium packaging are separately scoped services; availability is not an inclusion or unlimited-capacity promise.
  • Product suitability, artwork, minimums, samples, turnaround and fees require project-specific confirmation.
  • No service or packaging choice guarantees a particular customer response, return rate or carrier delivery outcome.
