New Jersey apparel and footwear fulfillment: compare real facilities

For brands shipping 1,000+ orders/month, compare the actual receiving facility and the work your catalog needs. Bergen Logistics, Capacity and ShipBob publish New Jersey locations and relevant service descriptions. FHU operates outside New Jersey, including Dover, Delaware. This FHU-authored guide distinguishes published facts from requirements to confirm; providers are not ranked.

Decision support

Published locations and the questions to take to each provider

Use the same definitions and evidence across every option. A comparison is not reliable when one path uses best-case assumptions and another uses observed operating data.

ProviderWhat the published evidence supportsWhat to confirm for your catalog
Bergen Logistics [1, 2]Bergen’s directory lists North Bergen and Rutherford, New Jersey. Its industry page identifies apparel, footwear and accessories as served categories. These sources establish relevant locations and a fashion offering; they do not assign your stock to either site.Ask which facility would handle your catalog and whether consumer orders, retail orders and returns would share the same inventory pool. Include any folded or hanging presentation requirements, size and color variants, and the evidence needed before a returned item can be restocked. Request the proposed workflow and charges for those tasks rather than assuming they are included in a standard order fee.
Capacity [3, 4]Capacity publishes a New Jersey campus with headquarters in North Brunswick. Its apparel and footwear page describes packaging and returns-system connections. Confirm the proposed facility and program scope together; the industry page alone does not establish that every site accepts every apparel product or handling requirement. If your brand sells both direct to consumers and through retailers, give the provider examples of each order type. Identify case quantities, recipient instructions, labels and any inventory reservations. Ask who reviews a changed retailer requirement and how extra work is authorized. Keep those requirements visible in the proposal so the consumer order fee is not mistaken for the complete retail-distribution scope.
ShipBob [5, 6]ShipBob’s current directory lists New Jersey fulfillment locations in Budd Lake, Dayton, Jackson and Trenton. Its apparel page describes management of many SKUs across channels, returns processing, custom packaging and bundling. The directory also distinguishes fulfillment locations from receiving hubs and places served.Ask where the initial receipt must go, where saleable inventory will be stored, and how replenishment or a move between locations is handled. Use your actual order destinations and stock profile when evaluating the proposal. A network map is useful for investigation, but it does not replace a product-specific inventory allocation and inbound plan.
Fulfillment Hub USA: outside New Jersey [7]FHU’s operated U.S. facilities are Miami, Commerce in the Los Angeles area, South San Francisco, Houston and Dover, Delaware. Dover is not in New Jersey. FHU’s service categories include ecommerce and B2B fulfillment, returns, kitting, FBA/FBM prep and shipping support. Confirm product acceptance, facility assignment and special work for your program. If an actual New Jersey receiving address is mandatory, keep that requirement explicit. If the requirement is service to customers in New Jersey or the wider Northeast, compare suitable locations against customer destinations, replenishment and the complete scope. Do not treat an out-of-state facility as equivalent simply because a proposal mentions East Coast coverage.

Execution

Prepare the same operating brief for every provider

Move to the next step only when the evidence and owner for the current step are clear.

  1. 01

Separate a New Jersey address requirement from a delivery destination

Write down why inventory must be in New Jersey, if that is a firm requirement. An inbound handoff, retailer instruction or your own operating plan may require a particular receiving address. A goal of reaching customers in the Northeast is a different decision. Compare actual origin locations and customer destinations, then confirm the accepted inbound address. Do not equate a headquarters, an office, a receiving hub, a warehouse and an area served. Record who operates the proposed site and where saleable stock will remain after receipt.

  2. 02

    Describe the catalog

List each sellable size-and-color variant with its identifier, dimensions and packaging. Separate ordinary stock from bundles, samples, damaged items and inventory awaiting a decision. Include the materials needed to prepare the order, not only the product itself.

  3. 03

    Show representative orders

Include a single-item order, a multi-item basket and a relevant exception. State monthly orders, peak assumptions and units per order. Identify estimates clearly so providers can explain which price assumptions would change if the actual mix differs.

  4. 04

Make footwear pairs and box condition explicit

For footwear, identify the style, size, width and color of each sellable pair. Show how the pair and its original box are labeled, and whether an outer shipping carton is needed. Describe the evidence required if a return contains mismatched sizes, one item, a damaged box or signs of wear. Ask the proposed facility to confirm which checks it will perform, how exceptions are recorded, who authorizes disposition and which work is separately priced. These are requirements for your scope; they are not a claim that every provider offers each activity.

  5. 05

    Define receiving and returns

Document inbound carton or pallet configuration and the expected product information. For returns, state how condition will be assessed, who can approve the next action and whether relabeling or repacking is requested. Obtain confirmation of availability and fees before relying on special work.

  6. 06

    Separate the channels

Describe ecommerce and B2B order requirements individually. Keep merchant-fulfilled stock distinct from units sent to Amazon FBA. Agree who controls inventory reservations, changes, cancellations and release instructions before the first live orders.

  7. 07

    Compare complete price components

Separate receiving, recurring storage, first-item picks, additional-item picks, packaging, carrier charges, returns and special work. Use the same assumptions for each provider. FHU’s published pricing schedule is a reference for its listed components, not a quote for your entire program.

Planning questions

New Jersey apparel and footwear planning questions

Clarify the location, products and responsibilities before moving inventory.

  1. 01

Does a New Jersey service page prove the provider has a warehouse there?

No. Check the provider’s location directory and obtain the assigned receiving address. A page may describe places served or a regional offer. Distinguish the receiving point, storage location and delivery destination rather than treating all three as the same address.

  2. 02

Does Fulfillment Hub USA operate a New Jersey facility?

FHU’s current location list does not include an operated New Jersey warehouse. It lists five U.S. locations, including Dover in Delaware and Miami in Florida, plus Oroszlány in Hungary. Confirm the selected location and service scope before arranging an inbound shipment.

  3. 03

Can the same stock serve ecommerce and retail orders?

That depends on the agreed inventory allocation and order requirements. Give the provider examples of each channel and identify reserved stock, case quantities and recipient instructions. A general multichannel service category does not confirm your particular setup.

  4. 04

How should apparel returns affect the comparison?

Include the decision process, evidence, disposition instructions and any requested rework. Identify who approves each next step and which activities carry separate charges. Do not assume every returned garment is saleable or that special work is available at every facility.

  5. 05

    What should we do next?

Prepare the same catalog, order, storage and returns brief for each shortlisted provider. Review the apparel planning page and published FHU prices, then discuss the itemized scope and assigned receiving facility with the team.

Boundaries

Before you start

  • A published location or industry category does not establish capacity, product acceptance or every service at every facility. Confirm the assigned site and written scope.
  • Providers with New Jersey locations are presented alphabetically. FHU is identified separately as an out-of-state option, not a New Jersey warehouse.
  • No competitor price, delivery guarantee, customer result, rating or superiority claim is made. Sources were reviewed October 25, 2026.
