When Miami is the right dock

Choose Miami if

  • You import through South Florida, where PortMiami and Miami International Airport both handle cargo.
  • Your customers cluster in Florida and the Southeast. Tampa and Orlando are an estimated zone 3, and Atlanta and Jacksonville are zone 4.
  • You need event merchandise or customized products prepared and shipped from one building.

Look at another FHU dock if

  • Most orders go to the West. Los Angeles, Phoenix and Seattle are an estimated zone 8 from Miami. See Los Angeles
  • Most orders go to the Northeast. New York and Boston are zone 6 from Miami, while New York is zone 2 from Dover. See Dover

Long-term storage

Long-term pallet and inventory storage is available by agreement. Pricing depends on the location, volume, pallet dimensions, storage conditions and handling requirements. Your written proposal and service agreement confirm the term, minimum charges, receiving and outbound fees, and applicable rate adjustments.

Goods with special handling or regulatory requirements must be disclosed up front and need a separate signed acceptance before they ship to us.

When Miami belongs in a fulfillment strategy

A Miami address alone does not make a 3PL the right choice. The useful question is whether a South Florida node improves the full operating model after inbound movement, warehouse work, parcel delivery, returns, and exception handling are considered together.

01

Inventory enters through South Florida

Miami may be worth modeling when ocean or air inventory already arrives in the region. The plan still needs to account for customs release, drayage or linehaul, receiving appointments, carton data, and the time required before sellable inventory is available.

02

Customers concentrate in Florida or the Southeast

Historical destination data should drive the decision. Order density, parcel weights, service levels, carrier mix, and return origins matter more than a broad promise about geographic reach.

03

One node is no longer enough

Brands can compare a Miami-only model with a multi-node option. The right answer balances speed and parcel zones against split inventory, replenishment complexity, safety stock, and the cost of transferring goods between locations.

04

Returns need an operating home

Returns are inventory decisions, not just labels. A fit review should define inspection rules, disposition paths, restock timing, photo evidence, refurbishment needs, and how status changes flow back to the commerce platform.

05

Retail and direct orders share inventory

Omnichannel brands need rules for case packs, routing guides, labels, appointment requirements, direct-to-consumer orders, and allocation priorities. Those requirements should be scoped before inventory is placed.

06

The catalog has exceptions

Dimensions, lot or serial controls, fragile items, bundled SKUs, inserts, marketplace prep, and special packaging can change labor and storage design. FHU confirms applicable handling before recommending a service and location.

Why Miami is a serious logistics decision point

Ocean cargo connects to a broader warehouse decision

PortMiami’s official cargo overview describes a network involving terminals, trucking, rail, warehousing, and other partners that move goods from ship to shelf. That context is useful for an importer, but the port connection is only the first part of a fulfillment design. Your plan must also define who controls customs and release, how inventory reaches the warehouse, how cartons and SKUs are identified, and what happens when receiving data does not match the shipment.

Air cargo can change replenishment and exception planning

Miami International Airport’s official cargo material describes extensive international freight activity and connections to Latin America and the Caribbean. For a brand, that can make Miami relevant to urgent replenishment, high-value inventory, or cross-border movement. It does not remove the need to compare transport cost, product eligibility, brokerage, delivery appointments, and the warehouse process after freight is released.

Local infrastructure is not a substitute for order data

A Miami strategy should be tested against an actual shipment profile. FHU asks where orders went, what they weighed, which services customers selected, how often returns came back, where inventory originated, and what service failures cost the business. The result may support Miami, another location, or a network. That is the point of a fit analysis: the recommendation follows the evidence rather than a location slogan.

Choosing locations

One Miami node or a wider network?

More locations can reduce distance to some customers, but they also divide inventory and create replenishment work. FHU compares the operating tradeoffs before proposing a footprint.

Start with one node when control matters most

A concentrated inventory position can simplify forecasting, receiving, safety stock, cycle counts, and launch management. It may be appropriate when demand is regional, volume is still developing, or the catalog is difficult to split.

Model multiple nodes when demand supports it

A wider footprint can be useful when destination history shows stable geographic demand and the parcel benefit exceeds additional inventory, transfer, and coordination cost. The model should include stockout risk and replenishment rules.

Revisit the design as the business changes

New channels, wholesale growth, product launches, seasonality, and changes in inbound routing can alter the right answer. Review the network with current data rather than treating the first design as permanent.

Miami 3PL questions

Answers that define the decision

These answers separate verified public facts from details that must be confirmed for a specific catalog and operating scope.

Where is Fulfillment Hub USA in Miami?

Fulfillment Hub USA’s Miami headquarters is at 3450 NW 115th Ave, Miami, FL 33178, USA. The phone number and email are listed on this page.

Does every FHU service run from the Miami headquarters?

Not automatically. Service availability is confirmed against your catalog, volume, channels, handling needs, carrier plan, and compliance requirements before a location is recommended.

Can a company outside Florida use Miami fulfillment?

Yes. The fit decision should be based on where inventory enters the United States, where orders are delivered, parcel-zone economics, return flows, and whether one node or a wider network is operationally stronger.

Can FHU help plan imported inventory arriving in South Florida?

FHU can map the warehouse and fulfillment handoff around your import plan. The importer of record, customs broker, duties, product admissibility, and release timing remain separate responsibilities that must be confirmed for each shipment.

What information is needed for a Miami fulfillment quote?

Share monthly order volume, SKU count, product dimensions and weights, channel mix, destination history, inbound plan, returns profile, packaging rules, special handling, and launch timing. That information supports a comparable operating and rate analysis.

How should a brand compare Miami 3PL proposals?

Normalize receiving, storage, pick and pack, packaging, carrier charges, returns, account support, minimums, and exception fees. Compare the operating assumptions behind each quote, not only the lowest headline rate.

How big is the Fulfillment Hub USA warehouse in Miami?

The building has about 87,531 rentable square feet. That figure includes offices and aisles, so it is not the amount of open storage. FHU confirms available space when it quotes your program.

Does FHU offer long-term storage in Miami?

Long-term pallet and inventory storage is available by agreement. Pricing depends on the location, volume, pallet dimensions, storage conditions and handling requirements. Your written proposal and service agreement confirm the term, minimum charges, receiving and outbound fees, and applicable rate adjustments.

What does pallet storage cost in Miami?

Published rates start at $34.50 a month for a standard pallet up to 55 inches high and $41.40 for a large pallet from 55 to 80 inches. Your proposal confirms the rate for your volume and location.

How far do orders travel from the Miami warehouse?

Tampa and Orlando are an estimated zone 3, and Atlanta and Jacksonville are zone 4. New York and Chicago are zone 6, and Los Angeles and Seattle are zone 8. Carrier zone charts set the actual zones.
